Raising the level of your traffic is always the number one goal isn't it? If you raise traffic, chances are that your income will increase and that is never a bad thing! Here is a list of 7 tips to help your sports blog generate more traffic!

1. Guest Blog. Offering to write a post for another blog is a no brainer! Once you have established some credibility and friendships in your sports niche, your chances of guest blogging should be pretty high. You will not only get your regular traffic, but a ton of traffic from your buddy!

2. Get Your Own Domain. If you have your own domain, your blog will look a ton more legit than the next guy who is still using that blogspot URL. There are a ton of domain sellers out there such as Go Daddy dot com.

3. Use MyBlogLog. This is my favorite tool on the internet for blogging! MyBlogLog not only gives you stats on the traffic of your blog, but it is the best way to find friends and get your face out there to thousands! Join as many communities and comment on as many blogs here as possible.

4. Link to Other Posts. Linking to other posts will be your strongest bet to receive instant traffic. When you link to another sports blog, the blog's owner will know almost immediately that you have linked to them and they will run to your site to see what's going on! If your site is a winner, the chances are high that you will receive a link in return.

5. Submit Your Blog to Search Engines. If your blog is not on search engines, how do you expect anyone to find it? There are tons of sites to help out with this process. Try AddMe or do a search for another.

6. Write List Posts. Write posts like this one! Anytime you can create some sort of "Top List" you will generate some buzz and grab the attention of readers. Check out Digg for the proof.

7. Ask Bigger Blogs for Links. Bigger blogs contain a ton of traffic that you want don't they? Well what better way to grab some of that traffic than to get listed on their blogroll. All you have to do is ask people! Most bloggers are pretty friendly especially if they are in the same niche as you. Let them know who you are and what your blog is all about and things will work themselves out from there.
