Blog Income Report: June 2008I can’t believe I’m actually doing this, but what the hell right? The whole blog income report has run rampant in the blog world and seems to have become some sort of bragging opportunity for many bloggers. Actually it serves as more than that which is why I figured I would share.
June marked our third full month and even though ran as our slowest traffic and writing month, came up as our biggest earnings month to date. We thought it was worth sharing and also thought it was a way to prove that what we’re doing in this blog and teaching you really does work. Of course this blog is no where near the size we’d like to see it at, but over the next 6 months should be pretty close to where we think it can get.
Summary of earnings:
Private Ad Sales: $289.20
Affiliate Earnings: $48.23
Reviews: $100.00
Misc. Earnings: $113.00
Total: $550.43So not historic numbers by any means, but I’m satisfied with them. We’ll see if we can double that amount in the next few months. I’m guessing this will be the last time in a while I do one of these reports because I can’t stand them, but just felt it was time to show you that I’m not completely just some babbling fool, even though certain people may feel that way.

Are you listing Yardbarker revenue under miscelaneous?
Also, where are the private sales? Did you make that all from the sidebar links?
I mean almost every ad I see is an affiliate ad, so did people pay to have you put up their affiliate ads?
yes yardbarker is under "misc."
private sales are pretty much all from text links and pretty much are all contextual.
Why not detail where the revenue is really coming so you have less confusion like what Mitch and I have because I had the same questions.
Private ads to me isn't contextual links like bidvertiser or adsense. Detail what you made from those programs specifically. What you made from text-link-ads. What affiliate programs you use etc. I think would be more informative and helpful.
Better yet, income report for LeBasketbawl which would show exactly how the techniques you discuss on this blog have come to fruition.
Oh yea and congrats on the success none the less!
Ya, contextual ads aren't private because Google serves them and takes about 50% before showing you how much you made. Private would be if you negotiated deals yourself.
Wow, you suckers just drilled me...I guess I didn't think the point was to give every single little detail of my earnings; in fact most people don't.
Here is a brief description though:
"Private" means I negotiated, yes.
"Affiliates" are Pepperjam and ClickBooth.
"Reviews" I think are self explanatory.
"Misc." was Yardbarker and BlogBurst (which is a post in the making).
Nothing is from Text-Link-Ads, Bidvertiser or Adsense.
Oh and thank you for basically telling me I don't know what I'm talking about :P
Want to buy a banner ad so that they aren't all affiliates? :)

How did you find your private advertisers? Did you contact them or vice versa
Most actually found me...there seems to be a decent amount of interest in the niche with the general "sports" feel plus the "make money" approach.
