Back during the NBA Finals, I blogged like crazy about the new service BlogBurst and how it actually can bring in some solid traffic to your blog. The service geared up during the NBA Playoffs and Finals and seemed to really be pushing for basketball blogs to write for their service.
Well after Le Basketbawl was llinked from their
service a couple of times to NBA.com and some other sites during the second quarter of this year, I ranked in their top 100 sites! They sent me this nice little email:
Dear Kellex,
For the 2nd quarter of 2008, your blog ranked among the top 100 BlogBurst blogs in both headline impressions and click throughs posted to our publishers’ sites. Congratulations and thank you!
Ranking in the top 100 sounds neat and all, but I just barely made it coming in at a whopping 99th. So for coming in 99th, they decided to hand me over $50, which of course I gladly accepted! Not sure what the other ranked blogs took home, but I'm guessing that the higher you were ranked, the more money they shelled out.
Anybody else have fun with their service and come in the top 100?
Oh, and you know what? I just published the blog's earning report and now I realized that I included this $50 in the total but it was earned on Le Basketbawl and not this blog...Whoops! Subtract it from the total which brings it down to $500.43. Sorry for that discrepancy!

I was lucky enough to come in 1st! My reward is $1500.00! I thought I liked this service before, now I love it!
Wow, very very nice Alex. Congrats man!
The Hoop Doctors placed in 57th. Worked out to $100. Signed up mainly to see what kind of traffic it would generate, but the cash certainly is welcome.
I find there is less traffic generated from it since the NBA season ended. Less click throughs from NBA.com and other MM online news.
Interested to see if it picks up again next season.
From what I've heard, they had a ton of participation this year and were really focused on the NBA Playoffs and Finals which is why we all got so much exposure.
Next year should be even better. Congrats on 57th!
