Sports Dollar and the Affiliates to Use

After I reported on my June income, I noticed that a few of you wondered more about the affiliates we use and also mentioned that you need to be using more of them.  For the purpose of this blog, I tend to see the most success with PepperJam and Clickbooth by referring new users on to their specific services.  The services work great for me, but are lacking a ton of sports minded opportunities right now.  LinkShare would be my suggestion for sports blogs to take a look at if they need an affiliate network that offers a ton of different sports programs.

PepperJam Network

PepperJam will likely provide you with more sports options in the near future due to their dramatic growth over the last few months.  You can see their early success just by checking out the $10 sign on bonus they are running right now that everyone in the blog world is promoting like crazy.  They tend to offer programs with higher payouts than most other affiliate networks which is why I keep promoting their use.  PepperJam continues to be our biggest affiliate and from the looks of it will continue to stay that way.

Clickbooth

Clickbooth on the other hand is a different type of network.  We make our money from it by referring people to their service and that’s about it.  I’m not saying that you shouldn’t join it and browse around at the thousands of different options they provide, but they are lacking any sort of sports category.  Clickbooth seems to really focus on email campaigns and ringtones; if your audience is into that sort of thing, then check ‘em out.

LinkShare

LinkShare offers bloggers a chance to work with most of the big sporting good stores for each sport and should be your choice if you are looking to sell sporting goods.  Commission Junction is another big one but LinkShare seems to offer the types of products your NFL, NBA or MLB readers would be into purchasing.  This blog is not necessarily geared toward selling sporting goods products which is why we only serve up one banner to LinkShare and that will hopefully be going away soon.
