It you think I was referring to the corner pub, think again. I am actually talking about where you are most active in terms of the many social networking sites we have to choose from.
A full work day can vanish pretty quickly when taking care of Diggs, shouts, stumbles, reddits, hypes, barks and now there is even the new Yahoo buzz.
It is just tiring listing them all.
For me personally I am signed up to Digg, SU, Yahoo, Reddit, Showhype, Ballhype, Yardbarker, ebaum's world, twitter, facebook and many others hoping to not miss out on whatever the best way of getting traffic is. So is it a little counter productive? It certainly feels like that most days. All of the hours you are taking care of social networks is taking away from actually posting and coming up with ideas. So why do we all do it?
For that one day, that one magical day that your post goes popular on Digg or catches a SU wave and you see the numbers rolling in. Then it makes it all worth it. Then you get hooked and spend even more time clicking.
Lately I have started to focus more on a few networks instead of all of them. I still try to make the rounds but nowhere near as often.
Digg and StumbleUpon seem to be working the best for me so I have been spending my hours building up relationships and my status in those communities.
Reddit and the other sites I just don't have time for short of getting Bosco, my dog, to start clicking away on another computer.
So now I am wondering, how do you all spend your social networking time? What sites do you use the most and have their been any big breaks?
This is how I would rank my social networking habits with 1 being most and 10 being least used.
1. Digg
2. SU
3. Ball Hype
4. Yardbarker
5. Reddit
6. Ebaum
7. Yahoo Buzz (climbing)
8. Twitter
9. Show Hype
10 Facebook
This could all change as soon as I find one is not working anymore or I actually start liking Reddit (fat chance).
Okay that is all for now, I have time for a few more Diggs before dinner and then I need to stop this madness.

I use Ballhype the most. I would say I've had semi-successful stories, but since I'm not a full time blogger, I'm sure others do better than I do!
Stumble Upon is still my favorite. One of these years I'll take the time to build up a Digg profile worth something, but I've been pretty successful without utilizing all of the social networking/bookmarking sites.
