Yesterday marked the day I finally decided to switch over to WordPress! And as you can see from today, it didn't go so well...
I spent most of Saturday night looking for a decent free theme to use, started reading up on what it would take to go from Blogger to WordPress and then spent the rest of Sunday making the thing work. I finally got everything flowing and started in on the customization of the theme I had chosen so that my wonderful readers didn't lose any more time on the site when everything came to a screeching halt!
After hours of tweaking, twirking and frustrations, I decided now was not the time to make the switch. Without a ton of knowledge of the inner workings of WordPress I became instantly annoyed. There were some basic things I wanted to do to the theme that I was unable to do, while I know with a Blogger template I could have performed in seconds.
At this point, I've decided to wait and work with a guy on a custom theme that will match almost what I have here on Blogger. I love the layout I have now, but I need the power of WordPress to really give readers an amazing experience.
If you have WordPress horror stories, I'd love to hear them! Also, if you know any good WordPress theme creators that aren't ridiculously priced, I'd love to grab their attention and start working with them immediately.

Funny how from Wordpress i cannot go back to blogger again.. I am having a hard time managing a new blog in blogger especially now with the new one.
Once you get to know Wordpress, I'm sure you'll love it :P
Goodluck!
Thanks for the input, and I'm sure you are right. That's why I figured if I get a theme built just the way I want it, then I will love it rather than attempting to manipulate someone else's work.
Have to agree with manilenya that once you get used to Wordpress it is AWESOME, it took me at least a day or two to get my site up even before I really started to do any customizing.
But it is worth it.
I'm sure I'll love it once I give it a second try.
One major problem I have is that I have zero patience. :)
Wordpress can be hard. I started out with it, so I do not know how easy Blogger can be :-)
I too have considered Wordpress and have wondered the same thing, I'll come back to keep reading what your other commentors have written about their experiences.
I love wordpress except for the fact that the first time I every tried to upgrade the thing I lost about five months of my blog. Man I didnt know how to back up properly, ect. AHHH, but now all is well and I really do enjoy wordpress. Great Post.
