Yahoo Buzz is Live!

The neweset Digg-esque Web 2.0 site has gone live and it just so happens to be from one of the biggest players in all the internet, Yahoo.  The launch of Yahoo Buzz should at least grab your attention for a little while, I mean, it is Yahoo after all.

The site has a nice flow to it and I'm actually excited to start using it.  There are rumors that once your story hits it big on Buzz, that you could be featured somewhere on a main Yahoo page which is a hell of a lot better than anything Digg could do for you.

Here is a quick list of things I'm noticing that are lacking from the service in its beta form:
  • No friends list
  • It claims to allow you into a publisher service, but it looks like just buttons to me
  • It's actively asking people to put more nasty widgets on their sites
  • Sharing through email is obnoxious
Anyone been using the service much in the last day or so?  Let me know your thoughts on it!

Also, I'm thinking of putting together a "Buzz Group" from some of the readers here on this blog.  You know, a nice little group to help each other reach that front page of Yahoo!  Stay tuned...

Seems clunky, but a million hits would be nice -- I'm in for a group, and feel free to do your first buzz by clicking my name here. (Then buzz this post of course!)

I think I'll use it. I was so resistant to social bookmarking at first that I missed something big so now I'm trying to take a stab at everything.

It'll be interesting to see it grow and see how people start utilizing it. I'm so disgusted with the users of Digg that anything is worth a try at this point.

Wonder who deleted their comment?

i tell ya i hope this is a lot better then digg. i gave up on digg a long time ago. always responding to peoples shouts and "friends" by reading and digging their articles even shouting those to my friends. And to get out of that is 5-10 diggs an article and rarely ever re-shouted to their friends. digg was worthless to me, hopefully yahoo buzz is different.

totally agree about how this is better then Digg. With digg it seems it has to be a tech article or international. I have been buzzing stories on yahoo! have yet to see much in return but who knows.

Stay tuned for the "post" beta edition of Buzz. I'm sure they are going to add a ton of user friendly and networking stuff.

The creative people at Yahoo know what they are doing, that's for sure.

Been using it for a day or so and it seems ok. For it is more of adding it to the process of diggs, shouts, stumbles, reddits etc.

tiring.

I only wish they came up with something better than Buzz.

I will join whatever group.

The group thing sounds like a great idea.

Anyone know how to add the button or feedflare in blogger and get it to know the post URL?
