3 Questions with Sports Dollar Readers: Social Media

Our favorite topic, “3 Questions” is back!  Of course, just like the first episode, we would like our readers to answer all three questions, but if you think that sucks, then just answer 1 or 2 and we’ll still love you!

I would have to say that my favorite part of blogging is listening to readers and what they have to say about specific topics. This seems to be a great outlet for everyone to speak their minds and possibly brag a little bit.  So let me have it!

1.  As a young blog, we tend to fall back on social media for most of our traffic which we then hope to grab and hold onto as return traffic.  What tricks are you using to keep that quick burst of traffic returning?

2.  Stumble Upon and BallHype tend to be our biggest players in the social networking/media world.  Are there new services you’ve really taken a liking to such as Yahoo’s Buzz?

3.  What is your single biggest day from a social media site?  I want numbers people; it’s “blow your own horn” time!

I can't remember the total stats for the specific day,

But the biggest short burst from Stumbleupon we received was over 800 hits in 45 minutes. It was ridiculous. Have received a bunch of spikes from Stumbleupon since but nothing so drastic.

I've been around for about 25 days, so my stats might not be the best to account for.

1. Can't answer it yet

2. I get a lot of steady traffic from Yardbarker, 200+ hits on any day I post an article (which is like every day)

3. I once got 1000 hits from SI.com's Fannation website, if that counts. From Yardbarker I've had as many as 500.

I've also gotten traffic from SI's Extra Mustard, but that's not social media.
