Entrecard users should have received an email today discussing 8 changes for the site going forward.  This comes just days after they decided to sell the site, only to pull it back off the market with new energy to make it succeed, just days later.

Here are the 8 bullet points from the email:

1.  Buy credits for less – 1,000 Credits now $6.  Whoo-freakin-hoo.
2.  More pricing increments – Ad rankings/pricings are changing.  Still going to be the same blogs at the top.
3.  Members are not allowed to sell credits – No more private sales of credits.  Who was actually doing this anyway?
4.  Credit transfer limits – Can only transfer 1,000 credits per week.  No more 10,000 credit contests!
5.  Transfer tax – Taxing your transfers.  Wow.  Ok.
6.  Blogs cannot be unlinked – No unlinking of blogs unless you email them to delete it.  Who cares.
7.  No more coupons – No idea what a coupon was anyway.
8.  Shop closed – No idea how to use the shop anyway.

None of these really matter to me as someone that has stopped using the service, but for those still deeply involved, it looks like it could change some of the experience.  The new 1,000 credit transfer rule is pretty ridiculous and I’m not recognizing the reasoning behind it at this point.  So much for big contests and buzz worthy giveaways!

From the looks of it, the owner decided to sell because the Entrecard Economy was about to explode much like ours here in the United States.  He then put it up for sale, and everyone started asking “Why, why, why!” which must have garnered a ton of responses from internet and business gurus around the interwebs.

You can see that in just 5 days from putting the site up for sale, he magically came up with 8 quick fixes that completely change the way the site is run.  Someone must have been given some advice!  It seems odd that he needed to put it up for sale to get solid advice from people.
