Did you notice the new Google Logo today?  It would be a picture of a Large Hadron Collider (LHC)...

Yeah exactly, what the hell is that?

Don't forget that Google also ran a series of Olympic Logos for each day that the Olympics were running.  You can check those out HERE.

Google doesn't want to get on Keith Olbermann's crap list. So they ignore anything with any possible non-Progressive slant.

Punks.

The "Reality Based Community" finds it important to ignore that 9/11 happened (except when exchanging theories about how the US Government devised it). We live in such prosperous times that people can live their entire lives in a "reality" of their own making and never have to participate in either sustaining or defending the society that gives them that freedom.

Actually, we hold these truths self evident that all men are endowed by their Creator... this society does not grant me freedom, it's mine innately. That's the whole point.

It's your right inately ("endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights..."), but it is not inherent in the human condition to be free. This society of ours protects that right from those who would deny it to us.

Google has had that logo up for 2-3 days for the collider event. It is a big deal and I doubt it was done to avoid dealing with 9/11.

I don't see how they could do a graphic header for 9/11 without upsetting people for political and non-political reasons. They would get complaints no matter they they did or intended to do if they had.

I don't think Google fears Keith Olbermann.

I didn't think they would fear China, either.

Maybe not. But I know what they do fear. I'll be switching away from Google homepage and toolbar as soon as I post.

This is one occasion that I'm glad Google did not commemorate. Any concept and/or art that they could incorporate into their logo could be misconstrued as too light-hearted, or some might see it in bad taste. Probably better to steer clear of this one.
