| NFL Pick of the Week brought to you from Eric of Unlocked Sports, your source for sports predictions. Pick: Atlanta -5.5 I am completely confident that the Falcons will cover a 5.5 point spread because they are playing at home against arguably the weakest team in the NFL. The Chiefs are starting their third string quarterback, Tyler Thigpen. He replaced Damon Huard last week and completed only 42.4% of his passes and had a rating of 58.0. Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons’ offense were absolutely and completely shutdown on the road against the Bucs. Ryan only completed 39.4% of his passes and had a rating of 29.6. The Falcons only netted 234 yards including 105 yards on the ground. When Atlanta opened the season at home against Detroit, their offense fired on all cylinders as they netted 474 yards, including 318 on the ground and won the game 34-21. Matt Ryan was impressive in his rookie debut, completing 9/13 passes, including a touchdown on his very first NFL pass, and had a rating of 137.0. Expect Atlanta to have the same kind of success they had against Detroit on Sunday for three reasons. The first is that since the preseason, Matt Ryan has played either fantastic or quite poor. Every game he has played poorly, he rebounded the next game with a rating of at least 97. Second, the Chiefs are ranked second last in the league at stopping the run. Michael Turner is definitely a strong pick as a fantasy football starter. He and Jerious Norwood will easily gain big chunks of yards on the ground. Third, the Chiefs will do very little offensively with Tyler Thigpen. Every week Unlockedsports.com provides free nfl predictions.
