Another week of upsets and another complete overhaul to our NFL Power Rankings! You'll notice a huge drop this week for the Redskins as I was write by ranking them 15th a couple of weeks ago even though you all told me how great they were. Well, you can't be great and lose to the Rams people, so they've officially been dropped the hell back down the list.
1. Tennessee Titans
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
3. New York Giants
4. Indianapolis Colts
5. Buffalo Bills
6. New Orleans Saints
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8. Carolina Panthers
9. Arizona Cardinals*
10. Jacksonville Jaguars
11. San Diego Chargers
12. Atlanta Falcons
13. Dallas Cowboys
14. New York Jets
15. Philadephia Eagles
16. Green Bay Packers
17. Denver Broncos
18. Washington Redskins
19. Chicago Bears
20. New England Patriots
21. Minnesota Vikings
22. Miami Dolphins
23. Baltimore Ravens
24. San Francisco 49ers
25. Houston Texans
26. Seattle Seahawks
27. Kansas City Chiefs
28. Oakland Raiders
29. St. Lous Rams
30. Cleveland Browns
31. Cincinnati Bengals
32. Detroit Lions
*How about them Cardinals? Boldin gets jacked up, Warner almost retires, and then they destroy the Bills and Cowboys. I can't believe that I actually put them into my top 10 as I'm sure that won't last long, but it feels good to live on the edge for a minute.

well dont u feel like a bitch putting the browns at number 30 wen they clearly destroyed the giants
Actually they still suck ass. The Rams beat the Redskins and does anyone actually think they deserve a solid ranking? That answer would be "no."
The Redskins "lost" that game. The Rams didn't "win." There is a difference between winning on a last minute field goal, which was relevant because of a lack of focus on offense and a poor kicking game, and beating a team by 21 and looking to be in control the entire time. The Browns should move up your rankings. The Rams game was a fluke and could not have happened if not for major mistakes by the Redskins. Meanwhile you have the Redskins at 18? When their 4 wins have come against teams that are all found in your top 15. I don't know what your biases are but you have obviously thrown logic out the window when ranking the teams.
how do you rank the cardinals ahead of the jets..they played 2 weeks ago jets put up 56 points on them..zona is not a very good team theres a reason there win over dallas is considered an upset
Rankings are there to be debated! With the way this season has gone, how can any team be placed anywhere on the list with any certainty?
And I wouldn't necessarily say that the Redskins "lost" that game seeing as the Rams were in control for 3.5 quarters.
What about their crushing of the undefeated Bills the week before?
No worries Kellex -- the only ranking that counts is the SB winner. Let the people hate -- it brings more people.
It is hard to say the Rams were ever in control of that game. The Redskins led in total offense, first downs, time of possesion. They held the rams to 4 field goals. Without an idiotic play by Pete Kendall, along with 2 other turnovers, or the amazing 25 yard punts by Durant Brooks this would have been a very different game. So I think it is pretty safe to say that the Redskins "lost" that game.
9 times out of 10 the Redskins beat the Rams. The Redskins definitely lost that game more than the Rams won it.
Scoreboard baby! That's all that matters. If you are leading a game for 3.5 quarters, you are in control.
It's all speculation :)
I would say that 9 times out of 10 the Giants would beat the worthless Browns as well, but neither the Redskins or Giants came to play this week so we're stuck.
The score during a game doesn't dictate dominance. Not to mention that the Redskins had the lead for the entire first half, until that dreadful play in the closing seconds of the first half, so the Rams only really lead for 1.5 quarters. At that point they were about to score but shot themselves in the foot, a trend that continued throughout the game with untimely turnovers and penalties. They moved the ball at will against the Rams defense and held the Rams offense to 4 field goals.
I nontheless agree that a loss is a loss. Though the Redskins beat themselves and the Giants just appeared to lose.
Let's just see how life is after Pittsburgh loses to Cinci and Tennessee loses to KC this week :)
how are the raiders and the rams above the browns? browns defeated the previous super champions! browns should not jump up too much because they still need to be desciplined (too many false starts and penalties), but did they even move up a spot in the power rankings after defeated NYG? does not look like it.

I just have little love for the Redskins and Browns and think they have both been completely overhyped all year long.
Skins still won @ Cowboys and @ Eagles. I don't agree they should be at 18. Like anonymous has pointed out, the Rams ONLY TD was on a fluke play at the end of the 1st half. Josh Brown really impressed me and he's probably the best kicker in the league, that's the only reason the Rams won. The Skins still have not thrown a SINGLE interception so as long as they don't fumble 4 times like they did against the Rams I think we'll be okay. Skins are still 4-2. Maybe you are a Cowboys, Giants, or Eagles fan, though...I dunno.
Actually I can't stand that entire division. :(
PLUS the Skins did not come in "overhyped". They were labeled idiots to hire Zorn and the loss to the Giants was supposed to validate that, but then after we rolled the Boys and Eagles, we earned the hype!
The key to understanding these rankings is to understand that they are totally based on the opinions of kellex. There is no logic, reasoning, or statistical analysis to back them up. The Redskins can drop 14 spots after one loss, a last second one caused by their own mistakes, and the Browns only move up....wait the Browns went down 6 spots after beating the #1 ranked team. That seems reasonable.
There is logic and reasoning but definitely not statistical analysis involved.
Basically the rankings show that I am not buying into the ridiculous infatuation everyone has with the Redskins and the Browns.
Everyone humped the leg of the Browns coming into the season which was laughable and everyone jumped on the jock of the Redskins over the last 2 weeks and they flopped to the Rams...
Like I said, it's all speculation which is what makes it fun.
There is logic and reasoning? Why didn't you buy that the Redskins were a good team? They beat 4 of your top 15 teams. Logic and reasoning would lead most humans to believe that the Redskins at least deserve to be in the top 15. You obviously have some preexisting bias. I am not going to claim that the Redskins are a top 3 or 5 team, but I think they deserve consideration in the top 10. You have them ranked in the lower half of the league when they are in 2nd place in what is considered to be the toughest division in football. So, while you may use some logic and reasoning in your rankings it is apparent that you let your judgement become clouded.
I'm enjoying the comments and banter, but unfortunately, it's going no where at this point.
I ran the rankings based on my "logic" and "reasoning" and obviously that doesn't work for you, which I'm glad about, because we shouldn't share the exact same opinion or that would be really awkward.
I'm also glad you think they should be a top 10 team and have a strong opinion on it, but I'll continue to rank them low until they impress me which they haven't yet this year.
you should probably try watching a game then.
hakuna matada
Wow. "Try watching a game then"...that's not even worth commenting on.
Come on big boy, you're better than that!
Are you trying to tell me you watched the Redskins game? They were behind for 3.5 quarters? Someone who watched the game would no that was not the case.
Why don't you tell me why the Redskins deserve an 18 ranking? Please present an argument with some basis in reality rather than simply saying you think they are overrated.
Goodnight Anonymous.
good answer
You just don't get it and so you know, I'm thoroughly enjoying this.
I think you are the one who doesn't get it. I am enjoying this as well. It is like a trip to the zoo.
Rarr!
