Some of you may have noticed that the Sports Dollar Job Board is seeing little posting action these days, which is understandable to us. We created it, pumped it up for 2 days and then let it go to see what may happen. We posted 2 positions for Sports Writers/Bloggers and James from NE Patriots Draft also posted 2 Marketing positions.
To date, these are the only posts up which may seem weak, but it's what I've seen on the back end that really has me drooling. So far, the Sports Dollar position has had 149 views and 23 applications submitted while the Le Basketbawl position is falling just behind it with 98 views and 9 applications submitted.
What I also need to point out is that no one that I deal with on a daily basis applied, so in other words these positions were found by complete strangers that were simply looking for work in the sports blogging world. It should also be noted that these were found via search engines even though I haven't promoted or optimized this job board at all.
This job board is linked with Simply Hired, Myspace Jobs, and LinkedIn to name a few. Those are huge job databases that eager sports bloggers are using to try and find work.
Now what I'm going to ask you all is, "What are you waiting for?" Is it because you don't have a position to fill? If that is your answer then I call BS. Everyone needs to start thinking outside the box here. This is not your basic job board; you could easily set up a position for a Guest Sports Blogger and you would have the position filled within a week.
The sports blogging world is blowing up right now! The people that applied for positions with my two little ol' sites didn't care that the positions were voluntary. (Although there may be somethin' somethin' worked out behind the scenes, if you know what I mean.) They just wanted a forum to get their material out there! Get creative with the positions you need!
You've all been given the June 75% off coupon code and not one person has used it yet. 75% off means you can post a position of any sort for $2.50! Some of you have also been given other special codes that you should be utilizing.
What I'm saying is, the time is right to think bigger with your blog. There are thousands of writers or artists out there that would love a chance to join your journey.
